This page is the central resource for everything competitors and guests need to know before and during Gasparilla Invitational tournament week — registration, eligibility, the championship field, caddies, spectators, and travel.
Registration
Registration for the Gasparilla Invitational opens annually on September 1 and remains open through Thanksgiving. Whether you are an exempt past champion, an invited player, or hoping to earn your way into the championship through the Monday Qualifier, every competitor must complete registration during the open registration period.
By the end of each calendar year, every applicant will receive notification of their tournament status. Competitors accepted into the Monday Qualifier will receive additional instructions regarding the qualifying process following the year-end field announcement.
RegisterEligibility
All amateur golfers 25 years of age or older with a current USGA Handicap Index® of 2.4 or lower are eligible to apply.
Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the championship field.
Championship Field
The Gasparilla's 144-player field is built first on the World Amateur Golf Ranking, with past performance at the Gasparilla itself weighed alongside it. USGA champions, select Allied Golf Association champions, and winners from other prominent national invitationals round out the exemption categories.
A handful of spots remain open each year beyond those exemptions, settled the Monday of tournament week when a qualifier gives any player a chance to post his way into the field. Fifty-four holes of stroke play follow, with a cut to the low 60 and ties after 36. Senior amateurs compete under the same criteria as the rest of the field, with the low senior score recognized each year.
Monday Qualifier
Registration for the Monday Qualifier takes place each January. Players must first register for the Gasparilla Invitational during the annual September through Thanksgiving registration period in order to be considered for an invitation to qualify.
Practice rounds are not available for the Monday Qualifier. Additional details will be provided to players invited to qualify.
Caddies
Caddies are welcome during championship play. All caddies must register in the Golf Shop prior to play and wear an official tournament caddie bib while on the course.
Additional caddie policies and procedures will be outlined each year in the Notice to Competitors.
Spectators
Members, member guests, and guests of competitors are welcome during championship rounds. To help preserve the golf course and ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, spectators are asked to remain on cart paths whenever possible and follow directions from tournament staff and volunteers.
Hotels
South Tampa offers numerous hotel options within minutes of Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club. Each year a limited number of rooms are reserved at the Epicurean Hotel for confirmed competitors.
Reservation information will be provided following acceptance into the championship field.

Tampa International Airport (TPA) is conveniently located less than ten minutes from Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club, providing easy access for competitors traveling from around the country.
